Server Official Groups

  • Certain groups are server official

    • Official groups include

      • The Military

        • This includes all branches

      • Police

        • Including all branches

      • The government

    • All groups are overseen by staff

Governing Rules

  • The Server Government IS NOT part of the staff, but can make “laws”.

  • This Governing Body is overseen by staff, and still must adhere to all rules.

    • The Governing Body CANNOT order anyone to break a server rule.

  • The Governing Body controls and maintains all military branches, police branches, and EMS branches.

Laws and Enforcement

  • The Governing Body can make laws that outlaw certain activities and items, and can assess certain levels of punishment.

  • Laws in direct violation of server rule – E.X. All detained players must become nude – Will be removed and may result in a removal from power.

  • These laws may be enforced in whatever way the governing body sees fit.

    • Staff will not intervene unless ABSOLUTELY necessary.

Contingencies

The rare cases below are to prevent corruption in the government. These are subject to change.

Inactivity of Governing Body

  • Should the Government become inactive, the server owner or highest available staff member will take power until a new governing body is selected.

    • Inactivity is determined by the government being silent for no particular reason during times of crisis or extreme stress.

    • Staff will determine when this Contingency should take effect.

  • If the Governing Body announces their prolonged unavailability, a “Second in Command” should be put in power until the main governing body returns.

Unfitness of Governing Body to Continue Working

  • If it is determined by the general public, law enforcement, or military forces that the Governing Body is Unfit to continue working, one of the following will happen.

    • The Governing Body will simply no longer be in power, and the highest military officer will take power until a new Governing Body is selected.

    • The Governing Body will be detained by law enforcement or military forces, and will be forced to give up power.

    • The Governing Body will be forcibly overthrown.

  • In the case of the Staff deeming that a Governing Body is Unfit to continue working, they will simply remove that person from power.

    • If said Governing Body does not comply, the staff will manually instruct all branches of military and police, etc. to no longer obey this Governing Body.

      • The situation should never have to come to anything in the “Forms of Punishment” section. However, Staff may possibly take forceful action if severe problems are caused.

Unfitness of Branch Leaders

  • If a certain member of the police, military, etc. is deemed to be Unfit in their position, they will be removed from it. This may be done forcefully or peacefully.

    • If the leader of a branch is deemed Unfit, they will be removed from their position by either the person(s) below them, or person(s) form another branch.

      • The highest ranking person below them will take their role, and this pattern will continue downward.

    • If a member of a branch is deemed to be unfit, the leader of said branch will remove that person from the branch. The leader may request help from other branches or members of their branch.

      • Their place will be filled however the leader sees fit.

  • Should Staff deem a player Unfit to continue their job, the staff will remove them from the job.

  • If a battle to remove a player from a position goes to the point of chaos, the Staff will step in to settle the argument.

  • The situation should never have to come to anything in the “Forms of Punishment” section. However, Staff may possibly take forceful action if severe problems are caused.

Misc. Rules

Content Creation

  • Players must have an active channel, and the channel MUST be checked by MD to ensure it is eligible.

  • Staff will keep a special eye out to make sure content creators that ARE RECORDING or STREAMING are getting quality content.

  • If a content creator is issued a ban, they will have their status revoked until their ban has expired and they are reverified.

  • We request that content creators leave some form of connection or link to our Steam group or server within their description.

Forms of Punishment

Minor

Minor punishments will be assessed for simple things, and most have no real consequence.

Warning

  • Warnings are most commonly assessed to new players, and can be as simple as saying “That’s against the rules”, or “You can’t do that.” Those are just examples, but that’s the basic idea of a warning.

    • It’s a good idea to tell new players to check /rules if they are causing problems.

Muting

  • Muting is mainly for use by chat moderators, but most staff can use it. Muting should be done due to a violation of the Chat Rules.

    • When muting, mute someone then unmute them after a few seconds as a warning.

    • If the problem persists, mute them for a longer period of time.

Killing

  • This command is not normally used by staff, but can be used as a warning measure.

    • A case in which to use it may be:

      • Someone spawning mass amounts of items, causing the server to lag

Kicking

Kicking is a form of punishment which can be used as a warning measure.

  • Most commonly, a kick is used to warn a player who has been on the server for some time.

    • It can also be used to halt chaos, alongside the kill command.

    • The best way to use the command is to kick someone who is breaking the rules, and warn them in this format:

/kick <name> “<infraction> - Warning”

  • Do not kick excessively.

Banning

Banning is a more severe form of punishment and should be used with EXTREME caution. BE AWARE THAT ALL BAN TIMES ARE IN SECONDS, AND THAT THE FORMAT IS AS FOLLOWS:

/ban <name> “<reason>” <time in seconds>

It should be known that bans can cause one to be removed from elevated roles or positions.

There are multiple levels of banning:

Time – Out

  • This type of ban is usually used for arguments which have gotten out of hand, or small wars.

  • Usually, it is a 5 – 10 minute ban, which is enough time for someone to calm down.

/ban <name> “<Infraction> - <5 / 10 Minutes>” <300 / 600>

1 Day or Hourly

  • 1 day or hourly bans are the more uncommon ban type.

    • They are usually used in small cases, where someone has broken the rules to a point where it must be punished, but is not necessarily severe.

    • How long of a ban to assess is up to the staff member, but the time must be reasonable.

      • Don’t ban someone for 10 hours for swearing you out, 30 minutes will do.

/ban <name> “<Infraction> - <Time in hours or minutes>” <Time in seconds>

Week Bans

  • This is the highest level ban any staff member should have to assess.

    • This ban level is used for someone who has been repeatedly breaking the rules, after being warned by staff OR players.

    • The player in question must have OBVIOUSLY known they were breaking the rules, and the staff should make sure they are WILLINGLY and REPEADTEDLY breaking the rules.

    • This ban should usually only be assessed AFTER previous attempts to get them to stop have failed.

/ban <name> “<Infraction> - 1 Week” 604800

Extreme

Extreme bans are only used by ADMINISTRATORS OR ABOVE.

  • All extreme bans must be approved by MD EXPLICITLY

  • This ban level includes permabans, and all other bans longer than 1 week.

  • Any staff member abusing this ban level may be relieved from their duties.

  • It should be known that extreme bans WILL cause one to be removed from elevated roles or positions.

All bans longer than 1 day must be reported to MD.

Staffing

All staff are handpicked. Staff must abide generally by these rules, in order to keep the playing field level between players and staff. When running a RP event, staff may alter the rules temporarily for those participating in the event. PARTICIPATION IN ROLEPLAY IS NOT MANDATORY, AS LONG AS PLAYERS FOLLOW RULES. Staff helping other players may temporarily bend the rules within reason.

Commands

Players are to always be aware of how they are using the commands given to them.  Below, each level of player is defined.

Non – Staff

Default player

  • Players are not to use /i to spawn in mass amounts of items for no good reason, or use the command to intentionally slow down the server.

    • The command should also not be used to spawn in “cheat items”; things that silence or modify the sound of a weapon, such as anything that is named “# NAME”.

  • Players are not to use /v to spawn in excessive amounts of vehicles only to abandon them in the road.

    • There is a 2 minute cooldown on this command for a reason; someone once spawned a pile of APCs, which was a real blast to get rid of. :/

  • Players are not to use /tpa in roleplay situations, as it is unfair to other players.

VIP or Elevated Position

  • All that was defined under “Default player” applies here as well.

  • VIPs are given special commands to use in cases such as intros to videos or livestreams, and to use for convenience. IN NO CASE SHOULD THESE COMMANDS BE USED TO GAIN A PLAYING ADVANTAGE OVER OTHER PLAYERS.

    • The /vanish command is intended for use in cases where the player may be otherwise swarmed, such as YouTube intros, or the beginning of a livestream.

      • If used to gain an advantage over other players, the infracting player may be stripped of their VIP rank. Severe cases may result in punishments found in the “Forms of Punishment” section.

    • The /tp and /tphere commands are designed to be used for ease of access. They are not to be used in roleplay situations, as it is unfair to other players.

      • The commands are EXPECIALLY not to be used to Force TP, the act of teleporting to someone or teleporting someone to you for no reason. If KOS is added on top of this, it will nearly definitely result in a loss of rank.

      • If used to gain an advantage over other players, the infracting player may be stripped of their VIP rank. Severe cases may result in punishments found in the “Forms of Punishment” section.

    • VIP players are exempted from some item restrictions. This means that they can do some things other players can’t. However, these restrictions should not be abused.

      • If used to gain an advantage over other players, the infracting player may be stripped of their VIP rank. Severe cases may result in punishments found in the “Forms of Punishment” section.
